Old Habits …

The Associated Press Stylebook¬†used to be the one book I flipped through like every day back in college. While working for my student newspaper, I had to learn to write everything according to what this book had to say. Whether it was putting a comma at this exact part of a sentence or making sure “farmers market” didn’t have an¬†apostrophe in it, pretty much anything the book mentioned had to be followed to a T.

Though this past year has left me not doing “real” journalism, the writing rules taught to me from this book have not been forgotten.
