Harsh Critics?
“Green Lantern” is being bombarded with negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but I find the low scores to be on the exaggerated side. The movie may not be great, but it’s definitely not awful. It’s a movie that has good and bad moments scattered throughout, so this should warrant the film getting an average to above average rating, at least.
Mean Green (To a Degree)
So there is this guy who has this lantern … and it’s green. He also wears this green ring that lets him do things with his mind … Yeah, even as a DC Comics fan, I realize the Green Lantern is a tricky superhero to explain to others, but many people are quick to learn why “GL” proves to be one of the most popular superheroes out there. So when I heard about the “Green Lantern” movie being advertised awhile back, I was genuinely stoked to watch it.
Fortunately, I can say the “Green Lantern” movie didn’t have me red in the face from anger as I left the movie auditorium sipping my overpriced, fountain drink cup of Cherry Coke. I can honestly say with a straight face that I enjoyed the movie, granted it is a flawed film in certain areas. At times, the latest “Green Lantern” movie can glimmer with moments of brilliance, but certain elements just dim this summer picture’s overall radiance. Read the rest of this entry »
